Menstruation is a natural blessing given to human kind

Menstruation is a natural blessing given to all women. However, many people can’t cope with the sight of blood.  While some people may feel uneasy about blood, an extreme fear of seeing blood, or getting tests or shots where blood may be involved also happens. Nevertheless, blood is one of the most important fluids for living things. Having said that, women observe bleeding every month for at least 4-6 days throughout most of their life time. 

The amount of blood discharged during menstrual period is quite a lot. There are a lot of emotional and physical pressures during this time. Some women may even feel extreme pain which may need some kind of remedy or pain killers. Unfortunately, in rural area where there is no or little hygienic products, most of the times blood stains on clothes or sitting places happen, and at that point, soap or any traditional washing products accessible to rural women won’t do them any good.

To the contrary women who lives in cities have an access to use a better hygienic product be it Tampons, Pads or Menstrual cup to control un wanted stain or smell that may disturb them. Those who lives in small towns, who have less access to above mentioned products usually uses a piece of cloths or towels as an alternative. In this 21^st century, in some parts of our world there are communities where their woman are forced to leave house, stay in isolated places like caves or forest each month to manage her menstrual periods alone. She comes back to her family house only after bleeding ends.

What we understand from all this is, although menstrual bleeding is natural, it is not always an easy phenomenon to enjoy. The only time woman wishes to see menstrual bleeding immediately discharged is, may be, when she wants to be sure that unwanted pregnancy not happened after having random unprotected sex. In general terms, women mostly enjoys her period’s departure time far more than her period’s getting time.

At this point let us raise some questions. Why menstrual bleeding comes each month? Why God let women to live with this uneasy phenomenon? What if menstrual bleeding happens once or twice a year? It would be relaxing and easier for women if it would happen once a year. Be it the cost of hygiene products, pain or emotional disturbances with period would be much less.  We may say, so why God put us all these burdens to live with. We only about to understand a much more wisdom behind these questions in answers.

One of the most important wishes in human life is getting an off springs i.e. children. To get a child a women womb must deliver an eggs. Every women naturally prepares eggs in her ovary once a month. Parent who want to get a child, if they are unable to conceive this month, they have another chance to conceive in the next months. That means they have 9-12 chances to conceive in a year.

Now, let’s consider a woman prepares eggs in her ovary only once a year. We know that the best day to conceive or the most fertile time is during ovulation. Ovulation is the day eggs discharged from the ovary so that they get a male sperm for pregnancy to happen. Therefore, it will be much more difficult to guess which day among 365 days of the year a woman’s ovulation to happen, if it is only once a year. Is it the first day of the first month, the last day of the last month or any day in between. Trying to have a sex all 365 days is obviously beyond human nature.  Simply we wouldn’t know the ovulation day and thus our chance of conceiving is nearly impossible. Equally, getting a Progesterone blood test 365 days in a year just to know ovulation day is nearly impossible again.

Imagine we identified that day by some magic or science. No guarantee the couples would have a chance to have a sex at that day. One may on long journey far from home, sick, or on his family’s party or death mourn etc. If they missed that day, the chance only comes next year. If a women is to produce eggs twice a year, the chance of ovulation means twice a year or once in a six months, which is also very difficult.

Now we can only imagine, if every women would produce an egg only once a year, our planet population would be far less than 8 billion, might be only some hundreds thousands. Most human being would die without offspring. Some lucky couples might get one child. Having a child would be considered as winning a jackpot lottery.

Therefore, we must understand that the menstrual burden given to human beings through women is the most important gift to mankind. The women who suddenly got her period outside her home shouldn’t be ashamed in any ways. Every mankind men or women must know females hold the biggest gift ever from God, and appreciate, take care of them always. As this most important phenomenon i.e. menstruation is the ultimate gift to humanity. Period.
