Get Up And Workout!

Nowadays, if you have Smart Watch and you stayed for an hour at a single place, it notifies you with a message “you didn’t move for along hour, get up and stretch out”. Staying at a single place without physical exercise is very bad for our health. Science has warned us time and time again, sitting seriously affects our health and even leads to early death. It seems women are risking this problem more than ever.

In a developing world, where winning a bread for a family was and still is exclusively men’s responsibility, women traditionally take many jobs in and around home. Such trend is quickly changing as women are choosing life style which often doesn’t need any physical movement.

A married women who stays at home hires a house maid for day-to-day activities including cleaning house, cooking, laundry and almost all type of jobs. That is only to passes most of her time on social media and/or TV. When her husband came back home she may put the meal cooked by the maid on the table, they eat together just before going to bed. You think she may take dressing the bed next morning. No, that is also maid’s job. If she has a baby she may breast feed only if she doesn’t like breast pump. Otherwise, she breast pump, put the milk in refrigerator, then the nanny will take the responsibility to feed baby whole day. In general the only job she enjoys is sleeping with her husband.

Naturally human body needs exercise. We may not work out a particular type of exercise or sport, but moving in the house while we do our day to day activities are very useful for our health. According to one study “if not for a TV remote controller, millions would have survived early death”. This tells us how useful for a person’s health moving to TV place in his house just to change a channel or open TV manually. This means getting up from a sitting place and moving in a house is very important for a mental and physical healthy. The bottom line is the person who chose sitting or sleeping the whole day, he/she voluntarily chose to die early.  

For those women who have a chronic health problem or any other mobility problem for that matter, who have no alternative but to get someone who helps them in a day to day activities can be acceptable. But for those who are in good health condition, no amount of excuse is rational to stay dump and acquire disease. Moving in and around house and enjoying work brings mental as well as physical health.

One may argue that decades ago women were suppressed than now due to overload house works. But it is common to observe older women are stronger than the millennials due to the difference in life style. They can recover faster that millennials, in case they became sick. To the contrary younger generations are prone to simple diseases and it takes them longer time and more treatment to recover than their mothers. All this difference is directly related to physical exercise. It is a basic science to know that, the immunity of a person who don’t exercise is much weaker. Those people highly risks dangerous diseases such as blood pressure and diabetes. 

According to different studies, for a person to be healthy he should have walk at least 4000-7500 steps per day. Our daily steps protects us from diseases like blood pressure, Diabetic type 2, Heart Attack, Stroke, obesity and many more diseases. Women shouldn’t take lightly to move and work in and around our house, as it has tremendous health benefits. Be aware! The viral mind set in our younger women, which is, “if you have money you don’t have work” literally kills.

It is a plain fact that the modern technology brought us a lot of blessing. To the contrary it also exposing us to complex problems. In the old days just to make a bread, women go to market to buy wheat, then she takes it to grinding mill houses. She goes to collect fire woods, do fermentation and dough, as well as many other processes before finally making a bread. Nowadays all this has gone. You order bread, you get a bread it in a matter of minutes. Even if she wants to bake by herself the flour will be ordered from the house, she may do doughing then she puts in an oven. Period. In general, the robots and apps like Apple Siri, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa etc. are taking human activities and thus spoiling us, particularly younger women. 

Let it be known that in no way this blog is saying neither modern technology is useless nor stop using it. The message is we have to be aware of our health and give time to do exercises. It is time to get up and workout.
